We're Cal Student Philanthropy (CSP), a campus program that Keeps Cal Golden by working with UC Berkeley to keep students informed about campus resources, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising initiatives. We’re back and ready to share now! Â
We recently wrapped up a successful fall crowdfunding cohort! Each year, 60+ student orgs and club sports teams raise money through Berkeley Crowdfunding, reaching their goals through social media and 1:1 outreach. You can always make a big difference by making a gift, or sharing to your networks — just one share results in an average of $13 more in donations, according to GoFundMe.Â
Check out Fall 2023's crowdfunding campaigns here!
Also, you can run a crowdfunding campaign, too — apply before November 27!
Cal recently celebrated our annual Alumni and Parents Weekend during Homecoming. Events around the school welcomed alum and students alike, with the annual Homecoming Rally, Luncheons, Conversations with the Chancellor, and Campus Tours. There were even learning opportunities including a history of Oppenheimer himself!Â
While we’re on the topic, thousands of Cal supporters filled the California Memorial Stadium’s stand in its 100th year of hosting athletic events to celebrate everything Golden Bear-related! This year, Cal Athletics popped off with merchandise and school spirit across all sports, celebrating wins across ALL sports. Student-run club sports have created amazing communities connecting students across our wide campus and it's thanks to RecWell that this truly is Bear Territory. Check out their impact today!Â
You’ve probably heard about the MLK building before, but did you know it houses UC Berkeley's student union? Every week, there’s events, food, drinks, and more, and they’re usually free of charge for Berkeley students!Â
Creative Programs: Get artistic by signing up for ceramics, pottery, or painting at the Art Studio and Crafter programs, or tap into your print and design skills with the Creative Lab and Student Media Center.Â
Services and Centers: Berkeley has free and accessible resources for you, and we’ll be shouting out several of these resources in our upcoming newsletters — some of which are made possible thanks to donations from the Cal community. Remember, it’s never too late to try something new, reach out to a resource, or join a new org.  CalLink, The Basic Needs Center, and Greater Good Science Center are all wonderful resources for all years at Cal!Â
Hang in there with midterms. Remember that you’re here for a reason and that you have all the support in the world from your fellow Bears! That’s all from us. See you next time!Â
