Congratulations Class of 2022 — you worked hard and you deserve to celebrate! Commencement can be bittersweet but your Berkeley experience goes on forever. Here are our tips on how to stay connected after you graduate.

Claim your Berkeley email address 📧

• As long as you are an alum of a full-time UC Berkeley undergraduate or graduate degree program, you can register with @cal after graduation and click the link that reads "Claim your Berkeley.edu account!".
• The address will remain the same, nothing in your account will change, and the process is fast and easy. Plus you get to keep all of your files and have access to an online directory of Cal graduates.

Utilize the Career Center 🤝

• Recent alumni (with less than one year since graduating) will keep the same access to Career Services that they had as a student!
• That means… access to all Career Center services including Handshake (the career platform exclusively for Berkeley students and eligible Cal alumni to apply for jobs/internships), events and workshops, and (OCR) On-Campus Recruiting.
• Access Career Advising via Handshake.

Pave the way for the next generation of Bears 🐻

• A gift of $20.22 to ANY program you choose will make a big difference in making Cal accessible for all Bears, and is a golden way to pay it forward.
• Since 1874, the senior class has made a donation to support the campus in honor of the next class to arrive. Join us in this centuries-long Cal tradition!
• Don’t know where to give? Show some love to your student group — or to one of our personal favorites, the Basic Needs Center. :)

Enroll in free online courses every semester 📓

• Each semester, the Office of Alumni Relations offers a selection of complimentary online courses for alums, taught by Berkeley faculty. Space is limited!

Join the Cal Alumni Association! 💙

• Join a worldwide network of Cal alums with exclusive access to events, campus resources, discounts, and more.
• Special discounted rates are available for the Class of 2022!

Volunteer at Cal 💛

• Sharing your time and knowledge with the Cal community is a priceless gift that Keeps Cal Golden, and keeps you connected! Check out of any of our top five alumni volunteering opportunities below:
  • Campus Mentorship Program - Serve as a mentor (or apply to be a mentee!) in any one of our 10+ active mentor programs for alums.
  • Career Center Volunteers - Share your experiences, advice, and insider tips with students who are considering a career or internship in your field.
  • Cal Alumni Association Volunteers - Support Scholarship Selection, participate in Alumni Chapters, and join the Berkeley Career Network.
  • Alumni Ambassador Program - Meet with prospective students in the fall, share your stories, and encourage them to apply to UC Berkeley! Later, alums meet with admitted students in the spring to encourage them to commit to Cal.
  • Cal Social Media Ambassador Network - Share social content related to Cal! It's a great way to stay informed about Berkeley news, and show your love for blue and gold.

• Homecoming is a wonderful time to visit campus and get spirited, visit fun lectures from your favorite professors, and relive your Cal memories.
